Pinterest is a great place to find fun ideas, especially around the holidays! When I came across this one I knew it would be something fun to do with my step daughter and simple enough that she could handle with ease! And, they look really cute! These would be a great little gift to hand out or a yummy treat to take to school or work! So let’s get started…
To make these candy cane marshmallows you’ll need: marshmallows, melting chocolate, regular sized candy canes and mini candy canes. The regular sized candy canes are for crushing (my step daughter’s favorite part!)
Once you have your ingredients out and the candy canes crushed, melt your chocolates. I put the bowl in the microwave at 30 second increments with a power level of 80%. Stir after each 30 seconds until smooth. Now the fun begins! Simply stick a mini candy cane in a marshmallow, dip in chocolate and sprinkle with crushed candy cane (we used a spoon and fork to sprinkle). Set them on wax or parchment paper to allow the chocolate to properly set.
That’s it! You now have a cute and very yummy treat! We decided to make some homemade hot cocoa as well and these made the perfect side to our mugs! They are great to dip in the hot cocoa or even drop in it for added flavor!
To top it off, you can even add some whipped cream and leftover crushed candy cane to your cocoa! Enjoy!
As always, thanks for reading!
