Colorful Pasta

This is more of an idea than a recipe! Sometimes you have to make food fun for kids and enjoy the moment where something as simple as coloring pasta noodles makes an easy and successful dinner time! I don’t do this one very often, because we certainly don’t need to eat food coloring all the time. My step-daughter did absolutely love it though and I think she really thought her dinner tasted better as a result…kids ๐Ÿ™‚

You can do this with any type of pasta; simply add food coloring to the boiling water to change the color of the noodles. If you are doing multiple colors you will need to cook the pasta in separate pots on the stove. I liked using Alfredo sauce with the blue and green pasta since it complimented the colors rather than contrasted like red sauce may do. Surprise your kids with this one night and I promise they will be excited to sit down at the dinner table! Enjoy!

And as a bonus to this post, here’s another really simple idea that my daughter always smiles about. PB&J sandwich for a snack in the evening with a little added flair. All you need is a cookie cutter and sprinkles! Simply use the cookie cutter on one piece of bread, make the sandwich as usual and add sprinkles in the cut-out once it’s put together. Oh what fun for kids ๐Ÿ™‚
