Creative First Wedding Anniversary Gift

This past October my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary! As I’ve said before, I love tradition. We decided to stick with tradition when it came to gifts for each other and followed the first anniversary of Paper. Looking on Pinterest again, I stumbled upon the idea of customizing a book to be folded into letters or numbers special to our marriage. I decided to go with Continue reading

Wishing Tree for the New Year

As I was looking for fun family ideas for this New Years Eve, I came across the idea of a wishing tree. My step daughter enjoys crafting so this fit right into that category and I loved the idea of everyone contributing to the tree with their own wishes and hopes for the new year. I actually took Hailey shopping with me to get the supplies, but wouldn’t tell her what we were doing with everything! She made some Continue reading

Mock Champagne for New Years

We typically have my step daughter on all holidays so I’m always looking for ways to make them a little extra fun! I came across this recipe last year and loved the idea for our family New Years Eve! This mixture really does end up looking like champagne and kids love toasting with this at the stroke of midnight! Added bonus… Continue reading

Simple Halloween Food

I know this is a bit out of order as far as when I’m publishing this post, but as a new blogger I’m giving myself an exception here to add more content! Second thing, I’m showing them here as Christmas cookies, but of course you can use this recipe for any holiday or occassion by simply using a corresponding cookie cutter. Okay, now we can get started 🙂 Continue reading

Christmas Eve Gift 2014

Traditions are my favorite! This will be the third year for my step daughter’s Christmas Eve gift! If you want to see 2013’s gift, check out my previous Christmas post! This gift is not a lot, but it’s always the essentials for a fun family Christmas Eve night…new pajamas, a movie, some yummy treats and a personalized item! I put the gift under the tree a couple days early and her excitement and anticipation grows! Continue reading

Candy Cane Milkshake

Just in time for Christmas, this milkshake is scrumptious…if you love peppermint like I do! Now, I’m sure you could “cheat” and make this milkshake with simply peppermint ice cream and milk, but I’m going to stick with the theory that this way tastes just a little better! It also made some fun memories with my step daughter! Continue reading
